Peter’s highlights

Peter joined the Austria & Bellevue family in 2010. As an intern he first learnt about (and learnt to love!) the daily work of our Service team as well as the warm atmosphere of both our hotels and the entire team. That’s also why he decided to return to our team in 2014, after he completed his training, and has since then been impressing the guests at the Austria.

What are your highlights in working at the Austria?
In the past few years, it is particularly the continuous changes that have fascinated me. The Austria has developed into a hotel with unique highlights. Every year guests enjoy even better holidays thanks to a complete refurbishment and new highlights such as great wine events and our Gourmetstube. I experienced these changes first hand and, at the same time, learnt many new things. The excellent cooperation within the team and my varied work ensures that I always enjoy my job.

Have you made use of Gurgl’s many recreational opportunities?
Since last year I have particularly enjoyed the wonderful countryside here in Gurgl on walks with my dog. And I always have my camera with me. I’ve taken many breathtaking pictures in the Ötztal. I also like going to the employee gym where I enjoy a good work out.

Can you name a fun fact from your daily work?
The employees always have great fun in their work here. It can sometimes be quite funny when someone puts their foot in it due to language misunderstandings. Waiters have, for example, sometimes ordered tuna without fish. There are, of course, also various other stories but I couldn’t disclose them here.

Do you have any tips for future employees?
Working in the bar or restaurant isn’t always easy but the daily work in the Austria & Bellevue is always made as agreeable as possible. A good work-life balance is guaranteed and the managers are very helpful and sympathetic. Future team colleagues in service can particularly look forward to many regular guests which become nice acquaintances over the years.
